Pac-12 Power Rankings for Week 11

Sports Blog Movement

It was a rather empty slate for the Pac-12 conference this past weekend. There was a grand total of four games — eight teams — that happened this past weekend. There were no real upsets, but there were some surprising results that left a fan base up in arms about something that doesn’t really mean anything. Anyway’s, this weekend was rather lame and the power rankings should reflect that.

  1. Oregon Ducks: The Ducks and Cardinal got the entire week to prepare for their match-up on Thursday Nov. 7th.
  2. Stanford Cardinal: See above team.

Two Homecomings, One Night

Assumption High Knight Beacon

by Ellie Vonderhaar

Assumption’s Homecoming Queen, Lexi Flynn had a senior homecoming experience like no other. It started at 6 in the morning with a volleyball tournament that had her out of town untill 4. She got ready, and her boyfriend, Eric Hale, from Bettendorf High School, picked her up. This is when things got complicated. They went to Jack Fitzgibbon’s for pictures and dinner, followed by the Assumption dance. A little over an hour into the dance, they left for Bettendorf because Eric, who was the homecoming king at Bettendorf, had court pictures. Lexi had to change into a short dress because that is what they wear at Bettendorf. The royal couple planned on staying at Bettendorf but went back to Assumption’s dance because it was so much fun! Here is what the two had to say about their eventful homecoming:

Eric: “I had the best time with Lexi…

Bullying in the NFL, when does hazing cross the line?

mjonesy07 - My Sports Blog

The NFL will certainly have to investigate the practice of ‘hazing’rookies, after the Ritchie Incognito incident of bullying. When does hazing become bullying? I don’t think there is a sensible human being who does not believe Incognito crossed the line, but how much blame should be directed at Miami? Surely they knew what was going on! If this sort of bullying is prevalent throughout the league, it will only take a law suit against a club or the league itself for things to change.image

Aeros banners gone?

Jami's Playbook

On Wednesday October 16 my now fiance and I went to the Rockets game. We were well into the game and we were talking about how we are going to miss the Houston Aeros. All of a sudden I notice his eye’s move up, he points to the roof and I couldn’t believe what I was NOT seeing. The Houston Aeros banners were gone! GONE!

I was going to write this blog a while back but i wanted to make sure what exactly happen to the banners. So after some searching i found out the banners were moved to Iowa with the team. This makes no sense at all. Why would they not stay here? It was HOUSTON I repeat the HOUSTON Aeros that won those Championships.

They won back to back Avco World Championship trophy’s in 1974,1975 with Mr. Hockey, Gordie Howe (considered one of the best hockey players of all time) leading the team…

Jets QB Coach David Lee Encouraged By Geno Smith’s 1st 9 Games

CBS New York

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) — Geno Smith’s relationship with his position coach got off to a rocky start.

The New York Jets rookie quarterback arrived late for a meeting a few months ago, and David Lee let him have it.

No coddling. No kid gloves. No tolerance.

“I went nuts on him and he had to learn,” Lee recalled. “You’re not late ever. For anything.”

Lesson learned, and a bond forged.

“I’m just dead-honest with him and pour out my heart and I want him to be the same way with me,” Lee said Monday. “And I think it’s why we’ve got a great relationship today because we’re both really honest with each other.”

Lee has been an instrumental part of Smith’s development from the day the Jets drafted the former West Virginia star in the second round in April. Smith has praised Lee along the way for helping him…
